Louisiana State University Museum of Art

The LSU Museum of Art (LSU MOA) collects, conserves, exhibits, and interprets the fine and decorative arts entrusted to its care and stewardship, providing opportunities for research, education, and enjoyment to students, scholars, and visitors. It sets itself apart through the strength of its collection and the breadth of research opportunities offered by the Louisiana State University (LSU) academic community. Further, it engages collaboratively with its Shaw Center for the Arts partners to enrich the cultural life of Baton Rouge by offering a range of cultural activities.

The Future

The LSU MOA participates in LSU’s National Flagship Agenda 2010, a seven-year plan to bring LSU to a new level of excellence. It focuses on increasing research and scholarly productivity and the quality and competitiveness of LSU graduate and undergraduate students. The outcomes are designed to place LSU in a position to compete on all levels with the finest public universities in the country.
